Back with another Money Diary! We went to Disneyland Paris this year and here is what we spent. Before leaving I had paid the following for flights, hotels, park tickets and transfers. Flights with Aer Lingus €500 for 1 adult and 1 teenager. Disney package in Sante Fe for 2 nights and 3 days park tickets cost €950. Hotel 1 night near Val d’Europe €198. Transport to and from airport €80
Total spent before departure- €1,728
Day 1
An early morning flight from Dublin meant breakfast at the airport – 2 croissants, 1 flat white and a hot chocolate from Butlers €14. Arrived in Paris CDG and headed straight to the shuttle bus. This was paid in advance (price above). Straight to Hotel Santa Fe- dropped out bags and back on the bus to the park .We spent the rest of the day evening here .We had lunch in the park –2 hotdogs and 2 drinks €28. Later in afternoon we had 2x beignets and a big bottle of water €12. We spent €11 in a gift shops – magnet and a straw. We ate dinner in the Rainforest Café –2 mains and drinks €73. When we got back to the hotel Starbucks was still open and I bought some drinks and a cup €24. Day 1 total – €162
Day 2
Back to the park in the morning where we had a breakfast of mini pancakes and drinks €24. Lunch was back to Casey’s Corner for Hot Dogs and drinks again €28. We spent the whole day in the park and had dinner in Five Guys in Disney Village – burgers, fries and drinks €47. We spent €38 on souvenirs throughout the day. Day 2 total— €137
Day 3
After checking out from Santa Fe we stopped at Prêt this morning for breakfast, it’s just outside the park on the corner of the train station – flat white, hot chocolate, water, croissants, yoghurt pot €20. We had a little wander around the park for the morning and then headed to Val d’Europe and checked into our hotel (prepaid – price above) . Then the shopping began…….Sephora €138, Nike €145, Uniqlo €15, Primark €60, Claires €19 . We had a very late lunch in Mc Donald’s €17. We headed back to the hotel for a rest and came back out for dinner in the evening. We ate in a nearby Italian restaurant – pizza, pasta, wine, soft drinks €45. Day 3 total —- €459
Day 4
An early check out and back to the train/bus station. Breakfast at Prêt – same as yesterday €20. Shuttle to the airport (prepaid- price above). Sandwiches and drinks at the airport €30 and then boarded out flight back to Dublin. Day 4 total – €50
Total Cost of Trip to Disney – €2536
Afterthoughts– Overall the daily spending was reasonable . However ……the overall cost of hotel and park tickets feels kind of shocking to me. This hotel was the second cheapest of the onsite Disney hotels and was very basic, there was no breakfast or additional extras for close to €1000 for 2nights/3 days. If I was to go back I would definitely just do a day at the park from Paris.
